Notice is given of the official result of the elections held on 8 October 2016 for Mayor and Councillors of the Wairoa District Council (as required by Section 86 of the Local Electoral Act 2001) and of the Māori Representation Poll.
I confirm that the official result was determined after the scrutiny of the roll was completed, the validity of all special votes was determined and all valid votes were counted.
I therefore declare Craig LITTLE to be elected.

I therefore declare Denise EAGLESOME-KAREKARE, Mike BIRD, Min JOHANSEN, Hine Beth FLOOD, Jeremy HARKER and Charles LAMBERT to be elected.

Māori Wards will therefore be introduced for at least the next two triennial elections (2019 and 2022) of the Wairoa District Council.
The voter return percentage was 63% including special votes.
