Dig 'em up again. Proving you can never give up on a bad idea, early 1980's school band Igneous Rocker and The Fossils reunite for only their 3rd performance in 40 years.
In the days before the internet, CD's and cell phones, industry manager Stan Wood (confronted by their sheer lack of musicianship), saw no talent or experience in the group but with an iron fist, borrowed equipment and sheer determination took the Fossils under his wing.
Some audiences saw the group as performance art, social commentary, a sneer at the establishment . But really it was all just a front for Wood's financial gain. In true definition of garage rock recording an entire band direct to cassette with one microphone, Iggy and The Fossils produced 3 albums of DIY classics with songs about every kind of 'ism you can think of. Their debut 'Fossilized Rock' showed just what they were capable of.
Underground Sounds, Red is Dead, Spastic Plastics, Occupational Hazzard, Kill Life, Grain Of My Future, Panache Man projecting the punk, folk ethos of youth. With guests Rope Tin, this promises to be an evening of memory loss, mayhem and music.
Get your tickets now. It'll be the least sensible thing you do all year.
