Shopping at Hammer Hardware has proven to be a winning formula for the second week in a row in the Tautoko Wairoa Buy Local campaign.

Sarah and Blake Charteris were the winners of week two of Tautoko Wairoa Buy Local after they shopped at Hammer Hardware.

Entries were up for week two with 537 people representing a spend of $42,820.84 entering the local shopping competition.

The Tautoko Wairoa - buy local and win campaign is open to everyone who spends $30 or more at participating local retail stores. They then go into a draw to win $100 in local shopping vouchers.

Draws are held every week and there is no limit on the number of times you can enter.

Week two of Tautoko Wairoa Shop Local was drawn by deputy mayor Hine Flood, pictured. Mrs Flood said it was great to see people shopping and buying locally and supporting our local businesses.

“Wairoa whānau rely on our local shops and businesses to provide products and services so it is important we support them so they can continue to be there when we need them.”

Around 25 local businesses are giving you a chance to win - just by shopping and buying locally.

Participating businesses are Angus Gemmell Hardware, Beauty Antix, Bloom ‘n loco, Books on Parade, Bradbury Jewellers, Dollar Heaven, Wairoa Pharmacy, Eastland Building and Farm Supplies, Ecko, Estway Sports, Goods 4 U, Hammer Hardware, Hair Here, Hind Furnishers, i-Site, JC Electronics, Local Living, Mojo, Petite Fleur, Purple Petals, Richies Hair Salon, Stihl Shop, Wairoa Appliance Centre, Wairoa Star, Wash with Sweets and Te Kapu Apiaries. Any other businesses that would like to join the campaign are welcome to contact the Council.

The promotion is part of the Wairoa District Council Tautoko Wairoa Buy Local Campaign to encourage people to shop and buy locally.
