Developing Destination Wairoa

WTC Web Banner

Strengthening tourism outcomes and making Wairoa a destination will be the focus of the ‘Wairoa Tourism Connect’ event planned for this month.

Led by Wairoa District Council, the forum is for tourism operators and businesses and is an opportunity to come together, reflect on the summer season, what worked well, what could be improved, and how tourism outcomes can be developed moving forward.

The event will take place next Thursday, 12 March, from 5pm - 7pm at Te Ahi Kōmau Courtyard, Marine Parade.

Wairoa Mayor Craig Little said Wairoa has amazing tourism potential. Council’s role is not to drive tourism, but we want to support the community to recognise opportunities that will help make our district a destination.

“This gathering will enable tourism operators and businesses to share their insights and experiences to help guide the ongoing tourism planning and development work across the district.”
