Art Deco Festival Napier 2026!

Art Deco Festival Napier 2026!

Every February, Napier, New Zealand, comes alive with the world-famous Art Deco Festival!

In 1931 a devastating earthquake reduced Napier township to ruins. Out of the rubble and ash, a new city emerged in dazzling Art Deco style. The annual Art Deco Festival commemorates the earthquake and honours the people who, despite the hardships of the Depression, rolled up their sleeves to rebuild what is today celebrated as the Art Deco capital of the world.

With hundreds of events to enjoy, the celebration spills into the streets, fills homes and venues, and even takes to the skies. Music, dancing, vintage cars, speakeasy bars, and the glamour of 1930s fashion combine in an unforgettable Festival experience brimming with energy, optimism, and all the jazz of the Art Deco era!

The full 2026 Festival programme will be released 12pm, 30 October. Until then, stay tuned and get ready for another incredible celebration in the heart of Art Deco Napier!
