Fierce, feminist, and funny.
This smash-hit show is a rallying call for every woman who has ever been told she is too emotional to be taken seriously, to be a leader, or to be believed. Hysterical challenges these myths by confronting body politics, systemic sexism and weeping uncontrollably in the supermarket.
Created by How We Survive Productions, Hysterical has won Best New Aotearoa Play (Wellington Theatre Awards) and Outstanding Performance Poetry (Auckland Fringe), with seasons at Q Theatre, Taranaki Winter Fest and Edinburgh Fringe.
Presented in partnership with MTG Hawke’s Bay alongside their Hidden in History: Trailblazing Women of Hawke’s Bay exhibition, this is a contemporary performance that’s powerful, personal, and urgently relevant.
