Happy Reunion

dogs 1 web

It was a happy reunion for three Te Rato Road dogs who were finally able to return to their home this week.

John Morrell and his partner Katherine Purcell asked Council to take care of their three precious pooches after their house and section was flooded in Cyclone Gabrielle.

The three dogs, Tama, Smoke and Boris, have been looked after by Council’s Animal Control team for the past three months. John and Kath have worked hard to restore their property and this week were finally able to welcome their precious pets home.

Wairoa District Council Compliance Team Leader Violet Hammond said the dogs were taken home for occasional visits. “All three dogs had such good natures and were well behaved while in care. It was awesome to see them go home and finally be able to complete the family.”

While the dogs were being looked after they were fed using donated food, including from Royal Canin and John and Kath were also appreciative of receiving Royal Canin pet food to kick start the dogs’ return home.
