The new Te Reinga Bridge will be lifted into place this month, marking a significant milestone in the bridge's reconstruction.
As part of this process, the road around the bridge will be closed during the day for approximately the next fortnight.
The road will be closed from 8am to 6pm from Saturday 22 November through to Wednesday 26 November.
On Thursday 27 November, the day of the bridge lift, the road will be closed from 6am to 8pm.
The road will be closed from 8am to 6pm from Friday 28 November to Monday 1 December, and then under traffic management from 8am to 6pm from Tuesday 2 December until Friday 5 December.
We will be working to restore road access as quickly and safely as possible.
This may include temporary or partial access before the planned reopening date and updates will be provided as new information is confirmed.
Council wishes to thank the public, and affected communities, for your patience as contractors work to restore road access as quickly and safely as possible.
