Wairoa District Council has launched a new online tool to support the community to find funding opportunities.

Wairoa Grant Finder is a free service and aims to help more funding flow into Wairoa to support local projects, ideas, and initiatives.

The online funding tool brings together a range of thousands of grants into one place, making it easier for community groups and marae, sports clubs and not-for-profits, local businesses and individuals.

The platform is a partnership between the Council and GrantGuru and provides a comprehensive list of available grant and funding opportunities.

Wairoa Mayor Craig Little said Wairoa Grant Finder is easy to use and a simple way to stay informed and not miss out on funding opportunities that could support your kaupapa.

“It is a free service and supports local projects and initiatives across the district which can only be good for our communities.

“The benefits of bringing external funding into Wairoa are huge and, as we have seen in the past, can be game changers for local projects,” Mayor Little says.

“We know that funding opportunities can be hard to track, are easy to miss, often time-consuming and confusing. Wairoa Grant Finder brings relevant grants across New Zealand and the globe into one centralised hub. People can search for grants, save opportunities that interest them and sign up for email alerts when new funding options open. There are also tips and explanations and generally a more streamlined approach to accessing funding.”

Mayor Little encourages everyone to head to the Wairoa District Council website, wairoadc.govt.nz, and register to receive emailed alerts for new grants, save your favourites and access tips to help you apply for grants.
