Manioro Toi Moana: Tā Moko Panel & Creative Workshops

Manioro Toi Moana: Tā Moko Panel & Creative Workshops brings the community together for a powerful closing experience — creating space to reflect, learn, and connect through lived experience and toi.

Beginning at 9:00AM, the Tā Moko Takatāpui Panel features Takatāpui and Trans individuals sharing their personal journeys with tā moko — exploring identity, whakapapa, healing, and the stories carried within their markings. This kōrero offers a rare and meaningful opportunity to hear directly from lived experience and deepen understanding of tā moko as both cultural practice and personal expression.

Following the panel, participants will take part in Māori and Pasifika creative workshops, led by local Takatāpui and Pasifika Rainbow+ creatives. These workshops invite expression, storytelling, and connection through toi, honouring creativity as a pathway for reflection and growth.
The morning will conclude with lunch, offering time to connect, share, and close the Manioro journey together.

Guests can expect:
• 9:00AM — Tā Moko Takatāpui Panel sharing lived experiences and journeys
• Māori and Pasifika creative workshops led by local Takatāpui and Pasifika Rainbow+ creatives
• A space for reflection, expression, and connection through toi
• Lunch provided to close the event together

This is a free event, open to the community. Spaces are limited, so registration is essential.
Come and close Manioro in a space that honours identity, creativity, and the stories we carry forward.
