The Antarctic Film Festival

The Antarctic Film Festival

An unforgettable evening of storytelling from the coldest place on Earth. The New Zealand Antarctic Society is proud to invite you to a presentation by Brian Jane and a curated selection of captivating short films from the heart of Antarctica.

The films blend stunning documentary footage, curated by award winning filmmaker Anthony Powell, that reveals the continent’s stark beauty, unforgiving conditions, climate change, and penguin antics with stories captured by inventive and funny entries from the Winter International Film Festival of Antarctica’s 48-Hour Challenge, an annual showcase of creativity and resilience from those who winter-over on the Ice.

Before the films, hear from Brian Jane on The New Zealand Defence Force involvement in logistics on the Ice and our contribution to the process for the New Zealand and other Antarctic Programmes. Brian will share how Defence Force capability supports safe, reliable operations in Antarctica, and how that logistics backbone helps enable the work of New Zealand and international teams on the continent.
