Wāhineahuone - Karanga Symposium

Wāhineahuone - Karanga Symposium
Karanga te pō, Karanga te ao

Kurawaka Limited are pleased to host this inaugural Karanga Symposium in the heart of Heretaunga, Ngāti Kahungunu. Kurawaka Retreat Centre located in the homelands of Ngāti Kere, Pōrangahau has been a welcoming place for many wāhine from all over Aotearoa who are ready to activate and ignite their mātauranga Māori around the artform of te reo karanga, a pivotal tikanga tuku iho for us as wāhine, as tangata whenua of Aotearoa.
The dream has come to fruition to host such an event, with the inspiration coming from our well-known Māreikura, Te Raina Ferris, the one who has taught thousands of wāhine the responsibilities and beauty of this critical role over the past 25 years.
This is a time to empower many more who join us on this special day, we will share kōrero on specific kaupapa and be the vessels to disseminate this mātauranga. As always our common goal, our whāinga matua is to empower and uphold our Paekaranga on every Marae in Aotearoa. Karawhiua wāhine mā!
