Voyager

Since the dawn of humanity, we have been driven by an irresistible urge to explore. We have crossed vast oceans, climbed towering mountains, ventured to the extremes of our earth and beyond – all in search of discovery, adventure, and possibility.

In conjunction with the Hastings Music Society, the Bay Cities’ Symphonic Band presents ‘Voyager’ – a musical expedition celebrating humanity’s spirit of exploration through tales of courage, curiosity and the enduring wonder of the unknown where every note charts a new course!

Alfred Reed’s, ‘Armenian Dances’ and ‘El Camino Real’ feature in the programme alongside Edvard Grieg’s, ‘March of the Trolls’, and Hans Zimmer’s, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End’. Other highlights include the multi-talented Mami Koizumi playing a Euphonium solo; Tyler Grants’, ‘Under the Ice’ showcasing a dramatic percussion section; and the Sunday Buffet trio of James Bevin (bassoon), Chris Pike (bass clarinet), and Laura Grady (french horn) portray a haunting rendition of ‘Misty Mountains’.
