Wairoa District Council proposes to amend its Class 4 Gaming Venue Policy (the policy). The policy is made under section 101, and 102 of the Gambling Act 2003 (the Act) and allows Council to minimise gambling harm in the community. The policy enables Council and the community to have influence over the location of Class 4 Gaming Venues in the Wairoa District and control the extent of Class 4 Gaming to prevent and minimise harm, particularly problem gambling.
