Pop! goes SWING

Pop! goes SWING

The James Lowe Big Band, the Bay’s premier jazz orchestra, presents Pop! goes SWING.

An unforgettable evening of live music, where some of the most recognisable pop and rock classics are re-imagined, and meet the unmistakable sound of a 20 piece Big Band!

Expect powerful and sophisticated horn sections, infectious rhythms, dynamic arrangements and powerful vocals.

The event is raising funds for the new Hawke’s Bay Youth Jazz Orchestra.

The evening will open with a selection of songs performed by these talented young musicians, giving you the chance to hear and support the next generation of jazz musicians.

Then the 20-piece James Lowe Big Band will take you on a musical journey through some of the biggest pop and rock songs of the last few decades — but with a twist. Enjoy songs such as “Mercy”, “Crazy”, “Wonderwall”, jazz classics and more. Featuring local vocalists Rachel Griffiths, Sophia Savage and Blair O’Keeffe.

Whether you're a jazz fan, a lover of great pop and rock songs, or simply looking for a fantastic night out, Pop! goes SWING will surprise, delight and deliver…

Pop and rock hits. Big-band swing. Talented vocalists. Young jazz talent. One unforgettable night of live music.
