ice skate tour

Get ready for a cool experience with the arrival of a mobile ice rink less than a week away.

The Ice Skate Tour travels around New Zealand with state-of-the-art artificial ice rinks and will be in Wairoa from Monday July 24 until Sunday July 30.

The rink looks like ice and has 97% same gliding capacity as natural ice.

Bringing the tour to Wairoa is a Wairoa District Council initiative to do something fun for the community with the mobile ice skate rink an opportunity to bring whānau together, get people active and reconnect our community.

Skating sessions are at least half an hour and are subsidised by the Council, costing $8 for a child, $12 for adults 16 and over, and $35 for a family pass.

The rink will be based at the War Memorial Hall. Daytime group bookings are now sold out but there are still some public tickets available for out-of-school hours.

To make a booking during public times, please head to and tickets are also available from the i-Site.
