Staff at the Wairoa Public Library have been busy the last couple of weeks preparing to deliver their popular Winter Warmers Reading Programme which started yesterday, 27th June and will go through till the 5th of August.
“Our Winter Warmers Reading Programme is one way we can keep children connected and enthused about reading,” says Manager of the Wairoa Public Library, Sandra Hughes.
“We have 110 places on the programme for children aged two to 13 this winter and we feel it really makes a difference to the children of Wairoa."
"Places are limited as we only had 30 places left on the programme as of last week so get in quick if you want your children to be part of this great programme.”
“There are some great incentives for the children who are registered in the programme. We’ll have activities and an entertainer plus some cool rewards to give to the children when they tell us about the books they’ve been reading,” says Ms Hughes.
To register, fill in the registration form, available from the Public Library. Registration forms can be dropped into the library, faxed to 06 838 8547 or scanned and emailed to wrpstaff@xtra.co.nz.
"Our gratitude to the Eastern & Central Community Trust cannot be overstated. Their continued support allows us to offer a free winter reading programme for the children of Wairoa", says Ms Hughes.
