Tairāwhiti Business Excellence Awards open

Wairoa businesses are encouraged to enter this year’s Westpac Tairāwhiti Business Excellence Awards.

Entries are now open and those local businesses that meet the criteria are encouraged to apply.

Wairoa District Council interim chief executive Kitea Tipuna said 2020 presented many challenges but it also revealed business resilience and innovation.

“These awards are a chance to celebrate business excellence and recognise the work of our local businesspeople.”

Westpac and Trust Tairāwhiti are co-hosting the awards to celebrate all that is good about local business, entrepreneurship, and success.

Entries are now open and close on the 31 March 2021. Judging of entrants will take place throughout April and May. Finalists will be notified at the end of May, with the awards presentation and dinner on Friday June 18. Television personality and raconteur, Jeremy Corbett, will be the Master of Ceremonies for the awards night held at the Farmers Air Showgrounds Event Centre, Gisborne.

The awards are about creating an opportunity to come together to celebrate and acknowledge what Tairāwhiti businesses have achieved, and to reflect on learnings and experiences from last year.
