Shop and win in Wairoa

Buy Local Win website

Post-pandemic local retail therapy just got even better.

Every time you spend $30 or more at any participating local businesses you also have a chance to win a $100 shop credit.

The Shop Local and Win campaign begins this week and runs until August 28.

To enter, just spend $30 or more at a participating store, and write your name and phone number on the back of your receipt and drop it in the entry box.

Every week a draw will be held, and one lucky shopper will have a chance to win a $100 credit to spend at a participating store.

There is no limit on the entries per person. The more entries the more chances to win.

The promotion is part of the Wairoa District Council Tautoko Wairoa Buy Local campaign.

Wairoa Mayor Craig Little said the Shop Local and Win campaign is another reason to support local businesses.

“Ensuring the success and continuation of our local businesses during this post-pandemic phase is one of Wairoa’s greatest challenges.

“It is so important people shop and buy locally. Before you consider buying something from out of town, stop and think, can I buy this locally?

Chair of the Council Economic Development committee Denise Eaglesome-Karekare said local people need to support local retailers and shop and buy locally. Spending money in town will enable these businesses to be there for us when we need them.
“Many of our businesses employ local people and it is important we support the businesses so they can continue to employ locals who in turn are providing for their families.
“Wairoa’s small businesses and retailers provide a raft of vital services and products and it is paramount we look after them.

“If we don’t support our local businesses, they may not survive, and we could lose the convenience of having their products or services available locally.”
