Market Magic Returns to Wairoa's Main Street

Market Day Announcement Retailers Pg1 klr Banners

Get ready for a vibrant morning of shopping, food, music and whānau fun as Wairoa's main street comes alive this Saturday with the launch of the Wairoa Hapori Market.

Set in the new courtyard outside the Wairoa isite Visitor Information Centre on the corner of Marine Parade and Locke Street, the market promises to bring a fresh buzz to the CBD while creating a welcoming space for locals and visitors to connect.

With around 20 stallholders already confirmed, there's something for everyone. Grab a bite from the sausage sizzle, enjoy live music, keep the kids entertained with face painting, and browse everything from handmade crafts and creative projects to unique treasures and local products.

Market organisers said the vision is simple – create a fun-filled whānau day that gets people back into the heart of town.

They want to see people enjoying themselves, supporting local retailers and market stallholders, and spending quality time together as whānau. Made up of local volunteers, the committee hopes the market will become a regular fixture, starting as a monthly event on the first Saturday of each month before growing into a weekly Saturday market over the busy summer season.

The market welcomes everyone, from people clearing out pre-loved treasures and selling creative projects to established businesses showcasing products and services.

The goal is to create more activity in the town centre, encourage people to shop locally, and provide a place where the community can come together, connect and enjoy everything Wairoa has to offer.

The Wairoa Hapori Market will debut this Saturday from 8am to 1pm. If you'd like to become a stallholder or find out more, email wairoahm@gmail.com
