International Day of People with Disabilities


It is the International Day of People with Disabilities on Tuesday 3 December 2024 and we are celebrating in style at Toitoi this year.
The International Day of People with Disabilities is about promoting the rights and wellbeing of persons with disabilities at every level of society and development, and to raise awareness of the situation of persons with disabilities in all aspects of political, social, economic, and cultural life.
We have chosen Toitoi as the venue due to its emphasis on being a community facility that is accessible for the whole community. We have been working closely with Toitoi works at remove both the physical and social barriers.
This is a free event that includes:
• Community performances – we have a Kapa Haka Group, A Bollywood Performance, and a Rock Band!
• Recognition awards which are inspired by the Enabling Good Lives Principals
• Information Expo from some of our community providers
• A low sensory space
Lots of fun is guaranteed at this exciting community celebration. You don’t want to miss it!
