SH2 closed between Napier and Wairoa on Sunday morning

The NZ Transport Agency is advising that State Highway 2 between Napier and Wairoa will be closed north of Aropaoanui Road, on Sunday, June 18 between 08.30am and approximately 10.30am.

This is to allow for the retrieval of a vehicle stuck in the Devil’s Elbow area. The road closure is necessary because of the size of the crane that is required and narrowness of the road.

No detours exist.

It’s expected that the retrieval will take up to two hours to complete but contractors will work to reopen the road as quickly as possible.
