FAWC event at Kaiuku Marae

fawc 2022

There are just a few tickets left for the upcoming F.A.W.C event being held at Kaiuku Marae, Mahia.

The Hawke’s Bay Food and Wine Classic (F.A.W.C!) will feature pioneering restaurateur Fleur Sullivan of Fleur’s Place in Moeraki, and talented, up-and coming chef Lyall Minhinnick who was a finalist nationwide in the Beef and Lamb’s Young Ambassador Competition.

The cuisine will focus on a range of kaimoana and beef-inspired dishes.

Scheduled for Sunday November 13, the event has been a long time coming after being postponed last November due to COVID-19 restrictions.

This time around those who had previously bought tickets were offered early bird sales with a limited number of tickets still available.

The Mahia event, Ka kai tahi tātou i te hakari/We will eat the feast, will be held at lunchtime from 12-3pm.

Wairoa, facilitated through the Wairoa District Council, joined the Hawke’s Bay F.A.W.C! event last June with its inaugural Taste of Wairoa – a sellout event held at the Gaiety Theatre.

F.A.W.C! is a series of exceptional food and wine experiences set in stunning locations in Hawke’s Bay. Running twice a year, F.A.W.C! is a chance to get up close and personal with chefs and food producers, wine makers and the clever people that make up the New Zealand food and wine scene.

The F.A.W.C! summer series runs from November 4-13. Tickets for the Mahia event are $143.50 each ($140.00 + $3.50 fees) and includes a three-course lunch with matching wines.

Tickets are on sale from Wednesday, September 14. For phone sales call 0800 BUY TIX (289 849) or head to the F.A.W.C! website.
