Plans to light up Christmas

2021 11 30

Wairoa’s Christmas festivities won’t be quite as sparkly this year.

Due to COVID-19 level 2 and traffic light restrictions the Christmas Parade and Christmas Market are unable to be held.

Wairoa District Council Chief Executive Kitea Tipuna said it is disappointing Wairoa’s Christmas plans are not able to go ahead but keeping our community safe is the priority.

“We are hoping that the money Council usually invests to support the public festivities will be able to be used to buy additional and replacement Christmas lights so next year we can come back bigger and brighter.”
