In accordance with the requirements of Section 342(1) (a) and condition 8 of Schedule 10 of the Local Government Act 1974, Notice is hereby given by the Wairoa District Council that the Council having given public notices on 16 and 28 August 2018 of its intention to stop a portion of unformed road comprising 5.6100 hectares (more or less) shown as Section 1 on SO Plan 521747, and 0.0019 hectares (more or less) shown as Section 2 on SO Plan 521747, and the decision of by the Environment Court confirming Councils decision ([2021] NZEnvC 008), the portion of road is declared to be stopped.

Section 1 SO 521747 is to be vested in the Wairoa District Council and subsequently declared Local Purpose (Recreation) Reserve and Section 2 will become part of the Marine and Coastal Area.

Council will publish the following “Notice of Road Stopping” and then provide copies of this notice and SO Plan 521747 to Land Information New Zealand in accordance with section 9 of schedule 10 of the Local Government Act 1974 for record, and the stoppage of the road will have effect from the time of record.

In accordance with the Tenth Schedule of the Local Government Act 1974 in the matter of road stopping, Wairoa District Council declares the portions of Road described in the schedule stopped.
