Support our local businesses - shop local

nicki

Local retail therapy paid off for Maria Chase who was the winner of the most recent $100 Tautoko Wairoa Buy Local campaign. Maria shopped at Hammer Hardware.

Since the launch of the Tautoko Wairoa promotion in mid-June, 3,130 receipts have been entered bringing the total spend at local participating businesses to more than $93,900.

Wairoa District Council Economic Development Chairman Denise Eaglesome-Karekare said she was proud of the Wairoa community and the way shoppers had supported our local businesses.

“This campaign is about getting our Wairoa community out there shopping and buying from our local businesses and supporting them during this recovery period.

“The COVID lockdown was pretty hard going for some of our businesses and it’s awesome that our local community are rallying together to support local businesses and supporting our local economy.”

The promotion is part of the Wairoa District Council Tautoko Wairoa Buy Local campaign to promote shopping and spending at local businesses.

To enter, just spend $30 or more at a participating store, and write your name and phone number on the back of your receipt and drop it in the entry box.

Every week a draw will be held, and one lucky shopper will have a chance to win a $100 credit to spend at a participating store.

There is no limit on the entries per person. The more entries the more chances to win.
