Kia Ora All,
Listening to others around the community who are Self-isolating, Jan and I are very lucky to have nearly 1200 acres to get lost on, but my thoughts go out to those who are confined to a house for 2 weeks, there is only so much you can do.
If you are aware of anyone, please offer assistance (best by phone or internet) of how you may be able to help.
Please remember, these people who are Self-isolating, are not infected, they are ensuring Covid-19 doesn’t develop, from any overseas interaction with others.
There are consequences of Self-isolation and an example of this is, Jan has a holiday Farm stay in the cottage on the farm, after ringing the Minister of Health, whether she can still do this, she was advised not to, to be on the safe side, suggesting it would be best to get someone else to service the cottage, luckily our daughter had done this the day before we arrived home.
Wairoa District Council is very blessed with its Elected Members, so whilst as your Mayor, I am business as usual from home, I have absolute confidence in all Elected Members, the CE, staff, along with our Government (whom I believe has been quick to act), everything possible is being done, to stop the further spread of this dreadful Virus in these worrying times and day to day business is being attended to.
Kind Regards Craig
