A decent all tide boat ramp would be a great asset for Wairoa.

Upgrade on Mahia Beach Playground - its well used all year round. WDC is all for tourism it would be nice to have an upgrade and maybe bigger with skate bowl as Mahia is main attraction for Wairoa District.

The bmx track area near the yacht club would be so much better and more utilized if it were given a spruce up. I good size start ramp with an established hard packed track rather then soft grass. Community race events could be held during the year. It gives the youth of Wairoa a place to hang out, exercise and make new like minded friends.

I think Wairoa would really benefit from a dedicated fenced off dog exercise play area where dog owners can let their dogs off the leash to socialise with others dogs. Whangarei has a really cool one with obstacles and tables where you can run around with your dog or relax on the tables and let your dog play with the others.

After helping clean mahia of rubbish on the sand dunes and beach the other weekend I strongly recommend council put many rubbish bins in mowed areas they have created. With the amount of visitors we will be getting it must be of high priority.
