Wairoa District Council provides a network of community projects and programmes for residents to enjoy.

Councils long term leadership focus is to work with the community to assist them to achieve their vision for the future.

One of the ongoing challenges of leadership is the need to focus on seeking to understand the needs of our diverse rural, urban and Maori communities so that we can provide good representation aimed at achieving the community’s vision for the future.  Council will continue to develop strong relationships with Maori.
