Subdivision Consent

Under the RMA and the Wairoa District Plan, if you want to subdivide your land or create a site for another dwelling you will require a subdivision consent.

If a subdivision meets the provisions and rules contained in the District Plan it is considered as a controlled activity.  Generally, if it does not meet the provisions and rules of the District Plan, the subdivision will be considered as a non-complying activity.

To establish a controlled, discretionary or non-complying activity you must apply to Council for a resource consent.  Such applications will then be considered by Council and will either be granted with or without conditions, or declined.  If resource consent is granted then you can establish the activity you applied for.

How do I apply for a Subdivision Consent?
You need to complete a Subdivision Consent Application form.

You may also need to complete an Approval From Affected Persons Form
